KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America, to be held in Detroit from October 24-28, will be a remarkably busy show for Kasten by Veeam’s Kubernetes Learning Community:

  • We will be celebrating the one-year anniversary of learning.Kasten.io.
  • Learning.kasten.io has been completely rebranded and redesigned and will be relaunched as KubeCampus.io!
  • We will be organizing the first in-person KubeCampus Learning Day to be held on Monday, October 24.

One year of Learning.Kasten.io

One consistent request from the KubeCon community has been for more Kubernetes training for all skill levels. This training can help streamline the deployment and operation of what can be a complex technology. Kasten recognized this need for learning and delivered an effective solution for the community.

We launched Learning.Kasten.io last year in October at KubeCon North America. In its first year, we have seen remarkable success:

  • Engagement
    • Over 10,000 registrations
    • Nearly 9,500 labs taken
    • 10 new labs delivered
    • An average of 3.5 labs taken per user
    • A diverse group of globally based instructors
    • Good attendance at the accompanying online learning webinar series
    • Active downloads of learning content and resources
  • Quality
    • Professionally beta tested and delivered labs
      • Storage, security, observability, and application consistency
    • An average lab review score of 4.7/5
  • Excitement and Competition
    • Wall of Fame for most points and most badges earned
    • Ability to share digital badges on social media

At Kasten, we believe it is time for the next step in the journey, so we are relaunching and rebranding our Learning website at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2022.

Introducing KubeCampus.io

KubeCampus.io is a great name that we think provides a key opportunity to transform the site into a new, exciting community locale for learning a highly in-demand skill.

Our objectives for the rebranding include:

  1. Providing a neutral gathering place for the Learning community, rather than a vendor-based resource.
  2. Increasing engagement and activation to drive more registrations, labs, and active users to enhance community education. KubeCampus.io will also help attract more registrations from new and broader communities—colleges, coding camps, and corporate DevOps teams to name a few.
  3. Supporting additional opportunities for certification and in-person training. This will also help attract more instructors and further our legacy of high-quality lab production.
  4. Attracting technology, learning, and content partners for co-produced labs, content, and training sessions.
  5. Delivering a more streamlined learning structure to optimize the user experience, with easy-to-navigate courses, each composed of 4 lessons: a blog, a PowerPoint presentation, a video on- demand, and a hands-on lab. Each course will have the same exceptional quality you have come to expect. You will also notice the exciting new KubeCampus branding and logo.

KubeCampus Learning Day

At the KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America tradeshow, learning will have a strong presence in Kasten’s booth (D6), and we will also be hosting a special Kubernetes Learning Day on October 24.

Learning Day will take your Kubernetes knowledge to the next level! Hosted by KubeCampus, this community-focused, independent learning event for Kubernetes users is a no cost, in-person experience designed for learners of all levels!

At the event, you can expand your Kubernetes skillset during one of two, 2-hour hands-on labs, where you’ll learn real-world cloud native skills from thought leaders and experts. There are two tracks: The Rookie Track offers an intro to Kubernetes Networking, and the Pro Track is a deep dive for those with some Kubernetes experience who want to practice troubleshooting skills.

During the labs, learners will:

  • Gain valuable knowledge about Kubernetes, a highly in-demand skill.
  • Build their resume and share lab completion badges on LinkedIn.
  • Make valuable contacts with industry experts and community members.

KubeCampus consistently earns high scores for its informative, hands-on labs – and Kubernetes Learning Day is another way to ensure the community can benefit from them.

In addition to the labs, the community will enjoy free food, and earn cool swag and prizes. Whether you’re a Kubernetes Rookie or a seasoned Pro, Kubernetes Learning Day from KubeCampus will provide many opportunities to grow Kubernetes skills and knowledge. Join us live for either lab, or both!

Learning Day takes place at the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit, 1114 Washington Blvd., from noon to 4pm.
